Humanity Less Education

Image
Mohsin Kamal May 11, 2017 Well said by Mehjoor”SHAKLI CHUS INSAN MAGAR INSANEYAT NISH BE KHABAR” (I’m a human by appearance but I know nothing about Humanity.) Doubtlessly day by day education is flourishing with an astonishing pace but ineptly humanity is descending with even expeditious speed. There has been a huge development in Education since last few decades, people see education as a compulsory part of everybody’s life. These days seldom people are uneducated and that’s the reason that Science and Technology is gaining heights day after day. Now a days we see a number of IAS/KAS officers, Doctors, Engineers and other dignitaries around us but perhaps very few Humans and the leading reason behind it is that; people now just study for acquiring a good job/position in life. With this kind of approach, to some extent we are succeeding in developing our society financially but unlucky failing to develop agenerosity loving society. Modern day students just aim to to do won...

INTERVIEW WITH PARVEZ RASOOL

Image
Parvez Rasool in Bangladesh:J&K skipper makes mark with his all-round brilliance Mohsin Kamal • Apr 27, 2017 SRINAGAR : Jammu and Kashmir star all-rounder and state’s lone international cricketer Parvez Rasool didn’t have an auspicious couple of months after making T-20 debut for India. He didn’t set world on fire in his maiden T-20 appearance for India against England. It went from bad to worse when his Indian Premier franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore decided to release him which meant the J&K skipper had to go under the hammer in the IPL auction. February auction didn’t have any good news in store for Parvez with none of the franchise showing any interest to buy him despite having a stellar Ranji trophy season. He had trials with Rising Supergiant Pune before the start of the tenth edition, but think tank preferred offie Washington Sunder over him. His IPL snub surprised one and all, but it didn’t mean Parvez was out of action. He was o...

Wanted: Cricket Academies In Kashmir

Image
Wanted: Cricket Academies In Kashmir (Representational Pic) Mohsin Kamal • Apr 18, 2017 Cricket might be the richest sport in the valley, but there is lot left to be desired to improve the sport at the grassroot level. Valley is in need of academies to nurture the aspiring cricketers at a young age. Srinagar: There is no denying the fact that cricket is not only the most followed sport in Kashmir, but richest one as well. There is a lot of money in the sport with Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association-the custodians of the sport-having massive funds thanks to being affiliated with the BCCI. With a fat purse at the disposal one would have thought of big stadiums and cricket academies in this part of the world. But, that isn’t the case. Not only is Kashmir bereft of quality cricket grounds, there are no cricket academies to cater to the needs of aspiring cricketers. Academies have become a fulcrum of any cricket culture but there is none in Jamm...

Modern day Teenagers

Image
Mohsin Kamal   February 13, 2017 "Fashion, technology and fun are the things which define modern age youth.” Spending most of the time on social networking sites, talking for long hours over phone, wear latest fashions are the few things which modern day teens do in their daily life. A kid is said to be a teenager when he/she reaches to the age of 12 or 13. This period though lasts for just 6 or 7 years but is considered as the most crucial period of one’s life. During this time a kid grows both physically and mentally. A complete change occurs in him/her. In past times, teenagers usually had just few things in their minds. They mostly spent their time either in studying or playing different games. But perhaps modern day teens do neither of these. They are completely different, a huge change has occurred in them. First of all modern day teens get a mobile phone in a very small age and how they use it, everybody knows. A...

A visit to hospital

Image
Hospital is the place where people forget all the luxuries and just want their health to improve. Usually no one visits hospital without any cause and whenever we visit a hospital, we are either ourselves not well or our any relative. People enter hospital in the state of sadness and it is hard to find any smiling face in the hospital. Hospitals are incomplete without staff members which include doctors, nurses and supporting staff. The hospitals look nasty in distress condition. These days, hospitals in Kashmir are full due to injured persons. From children to women, there are large number of patients fighting the pain in hospitals. The hospital beds are full of pellet hit children and bullet hit youth. The scenes in every hospital are unbearable and bring tears. In the ongoing hard days, doctors are playing a vital role in treating the bruised patients. They are working day night to help the despairing patients. They are trying to bring the lost life back to these pa...

Life without education

Image
Published at October 18, 2016 01:51:11 0Comment(s) 189 views Tweet When I open books the only things I see are the pictures of my blinded brothers, paralyzed elders, and bleeding Kashmir Mohsin Kamal John Deway once said, “Education is not preparation for life, education is life itself.” Last week as the entire world celebrated the “World Students Day” our Kashmir remained education less for last 100 days. While whole world is enjoying the fruits of education, Kashmiri students are thirsting to even see their books. Education is the process of facilitating learning, knowledge, skills, values, briefs and habits. It is the most important and must thing for human. Education makes a standing body good enough to be called a human. Education is life. Where there is no education there is no life. While the ongoing Kashmir “unrest” entered into the fourth month last week, educational institutes too are remained close since July. Numbers are not enough to describe...

‘Lack of quality cricket is hurting J&K cricket’

Image
MOHSIN KAMAL  UPCLOSE WITH ZAHOOR SOFI There is no denying the fact that Kashmir is rich in producing quality fast bowlers. From the days of Abdul Qayoom Bagow to the current crop of quickies, J&K has maintained its tradition of quality pacers at various levels. Abid Nabi, Samiullah Beigh, Ram Dayal and Umar Nazir are few names that have given good account of themselves at the big stage. Zahoor Sofi is another talented quickie who has fared well in whatever chances he has been provided with. Zahoor made his List A debut back in 2009 following it with first class debut four years later. He has been in and out of the side but hasn’t done his reputation any harm whenever he has donned J&K cap. A medium pacer known for maintaining tight line and length and inducing errors from the batters, Zahoor’s best performance came in 1014 when he was highest wicket taker in List A in North Zone group. He featured in two four-day games last season snaring seven wic...

Mohsin Mufti: Aggressor with a right attitude

Image
MOHSIN KAMAL Mohsin Mufti Hussain is one of those cricketers who have abundant talent but yet to make most of it. Dasher at the top, Mufti is known for possessing a wide range of strokes and hitting them a decent strike rate. Mufti, 26, is considered to be fit for limited overs’ cricket. A good fielder anywhere in the park, the right hander is a part-timer offie. Hailing from South Kashmir’s cricket rich Bijbehara, Mufti comes from a family that has been attached with the sport since ages. His uncle is a former first class cricketer. There was never any doubt about his talent with the Bijbehara lad pocketing contract with a premier Srinagar based Amar Singh Cricket Club when he was just studying in the 9th class. Within no time Mohsin was picked for J&K U-17 side followed with him finding place in the U-19 and U-25 sides in the coming years. But his best moment came last season when he debuted for J&K senior side in 50-over cricket. Although his chanc...
